Job Title: Yards Supervisor

Location: Omaha

Reporting to: Kill Floor General Foreman

Essential Job Functions:

• Receive all cattle and handle proper paperwork associated with each load
• Oversee Yards team during sorting, weighing and lining up cattle
• Verify anti-mortem procedures working closely with veterinarian and USDA
• Responsible for ensuring compliance in humane handling procedures
• Perform daily safety walks, correcting any non-compliance issues
• Work with Quality Assurance department to ensure product quality and food safety
• Monitors and confirms machinery, equipment and facilities are properly maintained and sanitized
• Trains and develops employees to attain department objectives through teamwork
• Keep track of employee hours, schedules, and duties
• Contribute to the ongoing development of JBS policies and procedures

Experience Required:

• Minimum of 1-2 years of experience handling live stock
• High School diploma or GED equivalent preferred but not required
• 3-5 years of experience working in beef slaughter operations

Skills/Abilities Required:

• Exhibit strong problem solving and leadership qualities
• Must be able to read, write, and speak English
• Proficiency in multiple languages preferred but not required
• Demonstrate effective interpersonal skills
• Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills
• General computer proficiencies
• Must be able to workflexible hours, including some Saturdays
• Must be able to work in extreme temperatures and stand/walk for extended periods of time
• Willingness to travel at least 25% of the time
