Registered Nurse (RN) ENT Clinic

Position Summary:

Provides professional nursing care to patients in the clinic/outpatient setting in compliance with professional practice standards. Promotes a collaborative, interdisciplinary approach towards patients, families, and all members of the care delivery team. The position is essential for the functioning of the SageWest Medical Group. The workload is generated by the number of patients the provider encounters each day. Requires ability to make decisions and judgments based on knowledge and experience

Primary Duties:

The following duties ARE NOT intended to serve as a comprehensive list of all duties performed by all employees in the classification. Shown are duties intended to provide a representative summary of the major duties and responsibilities. Staff may not be required to perform all duties listed and may be required to perform additional, position-specific duties.

  • Support administration in the development and implementation of the hospital’s mission, vision and overall goals.
  • Monitor human resource processes related to the emergency department to ensure efficient and effective patient care.  This includes the hiring process, and effective department orientation program, providing ongoing educational opportunities, honest performance evaluations, counseling when indi-cated, and termination when needed.
  • Provide strong leadership for the department by establishing high standards, leading by example, re-warding good behavior, and holding department accountable when they fail to meet the needs and ex-pectations of the hospital.
  • Communicate departmental and hospital-wide issues in a timely and effective manner to all depart-mental staff using multiple communication mediums.  This includes monthly departmental meetings, memos, e-mails, phone calls, and on-on-one training.
  • Use Performance Improvement monitoring, data collection, incident reporting, and other tools to iden-tify patient care problems and take corrective action.  Actions may include investigating problems, im-proving processes, clarifying procedures, and educating the staff to ensure the problems are resolved.
  • Facilitate the development of the annual department budget, three-year capital equipment estimates, and strategic planning goals.
  • Develop policies and procedures that clearly define the operational and interdepartmental guidelines of the department.
  • Manage equipment and supplies to make sure the department has the tools needed to provide patient care and to ensure resources are used wisely.
  • Advocate and ensure participation in interdepartmental activities, focusing on process improvements and achieving hospital-wide goals, by participating in appropriate committees.
  • Evaluate timecards bi-weekly and departmental operations monthly for adherence to administrative, budgetary, and strategic planning goals.

Scion Health considers a consistently positive, cooperative, self-motivated, courteous, and professional attitude to be an essential function of every position.  While different positions have different primary areas of responsibility, everyone needs to work as a team, and we expect all employees to roll up their sleeves and pitch in as necessary to get the job done.

Employees must be able to relate to other people beyond giving and receiving instructions: (a) can get along with co-workers or peers without exhibiting behavioral extremes, (b) perform work activities requiring negotiating, instructing, supervising, persuading, or speaking with others; and (c) respond appropriately to constructive feedback from a supervisor.

While this job is intended to be an accurate reflection of the requirements of the job, management reserves the right to add or remove duties from particular jobs when circumstances (e.g., emergencies, changes in workload, rush jobs or technological developments) dictate.
