Who We’re Seeking to Join Our Team:

The Associate Director, Retailer Partnerships and Growth, will partner with the Senior Director of Retail Partnerships to advance, execute, and evolve AGI’s U.S. retailer strategy. This role will lead execution of key components of the U.S. retailer strategy, translating strategic direction, retailer needs, and market developments into actionable priorities and leading complex workstreams from strategy through implementation.

The Associate Director will also own relationships with a defined portfolio of priority retailers, expand AGI’s retailer network, and advance opportunities that deepen retailer engagement and create measurable commercial value. Success requires strategic thinking, strong execution, relationship management, and comfort with ambiguity.

The successful candidate will bring significant experience in retail, strategy, consulting, insights, client leadership, or a related field, typically gained over eight or more years. They will have demonstrated experience independently leading complex strategic initiatives, managing cross functional execution, and translating market or client insights into business action.
The candidate must be comfortable working directly with senior leaders, preparing and presenting strategic recommendations, facilitating executive discussions, and influencing decisions across multiple stakeholder groups. Experience working directly with U.S. retailers and familiarity with research, data led advisory, or supplier and retailer collaboration are strongly preferred.

What Success Looks Like in this Role:

• Partner with the Senior Director of Retail Partnerships to advance AGI’s U.S. retailer strategy with accountability for translating priority areas into execution.
• Own the strategy, relationship development and execution roadmap for a defined portfolio of priority retailers, ensuring AGI’s insights are translated into clear retailer value. Lead strategic conversations with senior retailer stakeholders, translating AGI insights into recommendations that influence retailer priorities and action.
• Lead analysis and development of channel opportunities by identifying priority retail channels, emerging commerce models, and structural shifts in the retail landscape, and translating these into strategic implications, recommended priorities, and capability needs for AGI.
• Lead complex strategic workstreams from problem definition through execution, synthesizing retailer feedback, market intelligence, and internal perspectives into clear recommendations while driving cross functional alignment across key stakeholders.
Drive growth within assigned retailer relationships and priority growth initiatives by identifying and qualifying opportunities, developing retailer-specific engagement strategies and commercial propositions, and advancing opportunities from concept through proposal development, pilot execution, conversion and expansion.
• Build repeatable tools and processes that strengthen retailer prioritization, strategic initiative management, organizational learning, and progress measurement.

The Capabilities and Skills that Matter:

• Relationship leadership:
Builds trusted relationships, anticipates retailer needs, and connects AGI’s capabilities to meaningful strategic and commercial opportunities.
• Executive communication and influence:
Communicates complex ideas clearly, develops compelling recommendations, and confidently presents to senior leaders.
• Strategic and analytical thinking:
Frames ambiguous business problems, synthesizes multiple sources of information, and converts insight into actionable recommendations.
• Strategy execution:
Translates strategic direction into structured workstreams, action plans, clear ownership, and measurable progress.
• Cross functional leadership:
Builds alignment, influences stakeholders, and drives coordinated execution across teams and functions.
• Entrepreneurial drive and continuous improvement:
Proposes and tests solutions, challenges inefficient processes, and builds repeatable approaches.
• High performance and accountability:
Takes ownership of complex work, maintains quality and momentum, and drives measurable client and business results.
• U.S. retail expertise:
Understands retailer business models, commercial priorities, supplier dynamics, and relevant market shifts.

Reporting Relationship: This role reports to the Senior Director of Retail Partnerships, USA.

Location: This role is remote, based in the USA.
